I worked at an independent movie theater in Kansas City for a number of years and liked to find ways to incorporate art into my work day. So, for new movie releases, when it was slow, I would do chalk artwork on the drink board. It was challenging to get dynamic shapes in chalk, but I enjoyed the challenge and am proud of this piece.

I sculpted a strange worm out of insulation tubing, a block of wood, toothpicks, and my imagination. Not the best photo, but one of my favorite sculptures to date.

My most recent project for Salty Hippo Studio, where I completed my internship. I expanded upon my chalk work at the movie theater by volunteering to copy free-hand one of the owner’s unique prints.

This was a project I did in High School as a part of a portfolio we were meant to curate over the summer. I thought it would be interesting to re-create a skeleton out of cardboard in full scale. I spray painted it and hoisted it up on a stand to maximize a complicated effect with very simple materials and limited time.
